Amey’s Consulting business has created a new super-team dedicated to data, analytics and technology in infrastructure. The team is the largest of its kind in the UK and will be tasked with taking on some of the toughest, most complex issues facing the industry today.

The newly formed Strategic Consulting and Technology team brings together 90 of the brightest individuals from a huge range of professional and cultural backgrounds including amongst others, astrochemistry, computing, theoretical physics, maths, statistics, aeronautics and ancient history. Between them they have a plethora of BSc, MSc and PhD’s as well as professional qualifications, and can speak more than 16 languages.

Applying these skills, all of which are based on analysis, provides access to new insights into the behaviour of infrastructure assets to reduce costs and improve performance in new ways.

Nicola Hindle, Amey’s Managing Director for Consulting and Rail said:  “Amey has been at the forefront of consulting in the UK for many years now and creating this new team is the next step in advancing our consulting and asset management offering globally. The team will help asset owners to better understand and manage their assets, ensuring that our solutions and recommendations are driving better infrastructure decisions.  It marks a significant milestone in Amey’s journey and will be crucial to us achieving our ambitious growth plans over the coming years.”

The single team will be based in Amey’s London and Manchester hubs, but will work on projects across the UK and international markets.

Charles Oldham, Associate Director, is heading up the new team. He said: “Our clients include some of the largest infrastructure operators and development projects in the country such as Tideway, Heathrow Airport, Network Rail and National Grid. Our job is to make sure that we’re helping them manage their assets in the most effective and efficient way using the increasing power of data, analytics and software technology. This new team brings together our talent in this area to ensure we remain at the cutting edge of the changes and opportunities data and technology are generating across the entire asset lifecycle.”
