Amey’s continued commitment to supporting the armed forces community has earned the leading public and regulated service provider a silver Defence Employer Recognition Scheme award.
Launched in 2014, the Employer Recognition Scheme rewards organisations which pledge, demonstrate and advocate support to the defence community and align their values and activities with the Armed Forces Covenant.
To achieve this award, Amey has worked with recruitment specialists, CivvyStreet and Career Transition Partnership, to promote a range of Armed Forces friendly positions and openly employed members of the community.
Martin Nicholds, HR Director for Resourcing, Learning & Talent said: “We appreciate the tremendous contribution our Armed Forces make to our society and we’re proud to be employers of past, present and Reservist Forces personnel.
This award symbolises the importance of supporting members of the Armed Forces Community and being recognised for our work in this area is a real honour.”
Amey will be continuing to work towards gold award status. For this Amey will need to demonstrate an active approach towards Armed Forces Community employment via established HR policies and procedures as well as flexibility for annual training and mobilisation commitments.
