Amey, one of today’s leading engineering consultants and public services providers has appointed James Haluch to the helm of its strategic highways business.

James is a Chartered civil engineer and joins Amey from EM Highways where, as Service Director, he spent over 25 years (formerly with Mouchel) in developing the company’s integrated strategic highways services.

His experience, which includes Private Finance lead projects, spans highway, communications and tunnel engineering projects in the UK, Hong Kong and the Far East.

Andy Milner, managing director of Amey’s consulting and strategic infrastructure division said:

“James has a significant track record in strategic highways and will build on Amey’s long-held place in this market.  He is a leader with a passion for safety and people development as well as a reputation for developing and sustaining positive client relationships, all of which makes him a great fit as he shares many of the same values as we do as a business.”

James will report to Andy Milner as part of his Consulting and Strategic Infrastructure executive team.

James said:

“I am excited to be joining Amey at this pivotal time in strategic roads investment in the UK.  I am looking forward to working with the team to further develop and enhance the Amey service to our key clients to not only deliver a world class service to the communities we serve both in the UK and overseas, but also a service which demonstrates clear value for money.”

“I am delighted to be joining a well-respected company that prides itself on the safety of its people and customers, and working collaboratively with its supply chain and clients. My initial focus will be to build on this and furthermore to grow the business in traditional and new markets to become the UK’s leading highway management and maintenance provider.”

Amey has been a key player in the strategic highways market for nearly 20 years, holding key contracts with Transport Scotland, Roads Service Northern Ireland, Highways England and clients in the Middle East, Australia and the USA.
