Amey has been recognised for its outstanding contribution to the local community in Hampshire by The News Business Excellence Awards.

The highways team in Hampshire beat nine shortlisted companies at the awards ceremony in March to be named winner of the Community Contribution award, acknowledging the hard work of the Hampshire team across a number of projects and initiatives, including over 200 community involvement days.

The award is a significant recognition of the work done to support local charities, community groups, schools and individuals as well as committing to Amey employees by offering initiatives, such as Skills for Life.

David Ogden, Account Director, said: “We are very proud of the community engagement that has been achieved by the team in 2014.  It is only through everyone on the account getting involved that we have made such a significant difference to people’s lives. The award win is a fantastic recognition of the commitment and dedication from everyone involved, which has been the key to our success.”

The account has now been automatically shortlisted for the Johnston Press South Regional Awards in October, and follows on from Amey’s community award wins last year in Hampshire from Solent EBP and Naomi House and Jacksplace Hospice.
