BuildForce Insight Days are designed to bring the UK’s construction employers and Service leavers and veterans together to engage and discuss transferable skills, training and recruitment opportunities.

This year we were proud to sponsor the event, held at the museum at RAF Cosford, which saw 32 employers and over 50 Service leavers and veterans attend the day to learn more about how their military skills can transfer over to roles in the construction industry.

Our team spent the day giving advice and support to those looking for their second careers and received several CVs. More are expected to come over the next few weeks. We’ll be reviewing and matching all CVs to any current vacancies as well as offering mentoring opportunities in conjunction with BuildForce and our network of 32 Amey BuildForce mentors.

Veterans, Tim Redfern, Amey’s Managing Director, Defence, and Iain Coulson, Amey’s Principal Project Manager, both spoke at the event that was opened by Angela Forbes, Chief Executive of BuildForce.

Tim Redfern said: “We were extremely proud to be hosting this year’s BuildForce Armed Forces Insight Day at RAF Cosford. The day provided the opportunity for the military community to engage with employers to discuss transferable skills and how their experience in the Armed Forces can lead to roles such as Project Managers, M&E engineers, Health & Safety Managers, Plant Operators and much more. We were delighted to be part of the day.”
