Amey has acquired full ownership of its defence equipment joint venture after transferring shares from partner Briggs.
AmeyBriggs provides the military with the vehicles and equipment they need to help keep the UK safe. Operating out of over 20 sites across the UK, it maintains and manages the Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) fleet of construction and materials handling equipment, and other key plant both nationally and internationally. More recently the JV secured a contract to support and manage vital airfield ancillary equipment on behalf of the RAF.
The share transfer forms part of Amey’s wider growth ambitions to broaden its services and capabilities in the defence sector. Amey has extensive experience operating within military environments. With inhouse operational, data and analytics expertise in maintaining and enhancing defence assets, it plays an important role supporting the UK’s resilience and secure future.

Around 140 employees and supply chain members make up the AmeyBriggs contract and these people will bring a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience to the wider Amey Group.”
