Amey’s fleet services has won the coveted Van Decarbonisation Award at the 2023 Logistics UK’s Van Awards.
The national award was presented at the trade association’s celebratory lunch event at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Birmingham on 15 September 2023.
The annual awards recognise exceptional standards demonstrated by van operators and how they have gone above and beyond for their customers.
Amey won the Van Decarbonisation Award for its ambitious targets and taking swift action to substantially reduce its scope one fleet vehicle emissions within a two-and-a-half-year period.
One of Amey’s principal objectives is to be a market leader in sustainable infrastructure solutions and support our clients with the energy transition.
Our target is for 75% of our car and van fleet to be fully electric by 2025, and for 50% of our trucks and 75% of plants to run on alternative fuel.
Currently, 32% of our fleet runs on alternative fuel, with a further 29% electric fleet vehicles on order. We are working closely with our fleet vehicle partner to incentivise and accelerate early adoption zero carbon vehicle replacements.
Critical to our success is working with our operational teams to change our practices in-line with new technology. Infrastructure also plays a pivotal role in decarbonisation, which is why we are rolling out new electric vehicle chargers at our depots, coupled with the installation of home chargers for fleet users.

Amey will now be automatically shortlisted for the Van Business of the Year category at the 2023 Logistics UK’s Awards’ gala event on 7 December at the iconic Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London.
