Amey Secure Infrastructure, a provider of critical services for the public sector, has completed refurbishment works at its offices in Buckshaw. These works form part of an ambition to create enhanced working environments that are better suited to the needs of employees and building users.

Amey’s project management office (PMO) team worked with Domino Interiors to deliver an office that staff feel excited to be in and is more suited to their hybrid style of working. The new design focuses on formal and informal meeting and communal spaces, with less emphasis on desks, offering Amey staff a more collaborative way of working when they come into the office.

The new space needed to include sound solutions to ensure optimised noise levels and so the team installed full height sound deadening glass walls, sound attenuated partition walls and modern door sets. A full replacement of floor coverings was laid across the site and ceiling mounted acoustic baffles were installed to reduce noise transference. As well as solving any noise issues, these design choices complement the light and airy open plan setting.

Feature lighting has been introduced and alongside the collaborative workspaces, a modern open kitchen has been installed to create a refreshed and inviting feel.

David Isteed, Group Head of Property at Amey, said: “The Amey team and Domino Interiors have delivered an exceptional space that we can all be proud of. The space more than meets the needs of those using it on a regular and more occasional basis. Well done to all those involved, from the project management to the IT services, it’s been an excellent project.

“Talking to the staff who are working here now, they are happy to be here, and they are feeling the benefits of a space that is designed to encourage of face-to-face interaction.”

David Costich, Financial Controller at Amey, will be using the office on a regular basis and commented: “The new space is great, when I walked in, I was amazed by the transformation. It looks and smells new and fresh and it’s going to be a nice place to come to meet with my team, the breakout spaces are just what we need.”

Karen Davies, Head of PMO for Amey Secure Infrastructure, said: “The different teams all worked brilliantly together and we delivered on time, meeting our zero harm objective and having created a collaborative working office for teams to use.”
