Leading public services provider Amey’s Utilities business gained a 100% score for the third year running in the external Achilles health and safety audit, which clients use as a key factor in making informed decisions about their supply chain.

Achilles, which is an independent company, audited the Utilities business on the 24th June, focusing on its Scottish Water account, and reviewed management and HSE processes with the local management team, leading to their awarding of full marks.

The Achilles platform means that Amey can showcase its audit score alongside its qualifications and demonstrate compliance across a whole host of criteria – such as health and safety, quality and social responsibility. This year the company had the added dimension of showing how it’s managed its response to Covid-19.

Gerry Mulholland, Director of HSEQ for Utilities, said: “I’m very proud that the business has achieved a 100% again. Achieving this score three years running is very rare, and a testament to our hard work to push towards our company’s Zero harm goal.”

The Achilles audit starts with a pre-qualification questionnaire with a follow-up from a professional, certified auditor. Many clients now require this audit as part of their procurement process making it a crucial milestone for continued business growth.
