Amey Consulting secures Swindon Borough Council Highways and Transport Professional Services Framework

Amey Consulting has secured a £3.5m contract with Swindon Borough Council to deliver engineering and transportation services as part of the Highways and Transport Professional Services Framework. 

The three-year contractwhich commenced on 1st August 2020, will see Amey Consulting continuing to support the local economy by delivering the services from their existing office in Swindon, creating new jobs and employing two apprentices per year throughout the contract.  

Bringing specialist skills and professional expertise to a variety of design and engineering projects, the team will provide technical advice across several areas, from feasibility studies through to the supervision of works. Outside of the office, the team has also committed to working alongside the council and volunteer groups to improve local green spaces within the community. 

Councillor Gary Sumner, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Strategic Infrastructure, Transport and Planning, said: “We are in the middle of a major programme to upgrade Swindon’s road network and we need an engineering partner who can help us deliver these projects. 

"Amey Consulting submitted a strong all-round bid and the company has an established local presence and considerable experience in working with other local authorities. 

 “We have recently been successful in obtaining government funding for a range of road improvement schemes and we are keen to start working with Amey as soon as we can so we can use the skills and technical experience of its staff.” 

Speaking of the recent contract award, Alex Gilbert Managing Director of Amey Consulting said: “I’m delighted to be able to bring our highways and transportation expertise to Swindon Borough Council.
