A top accolade for a top company - Owen Williams has been crowned Major Firm in the NCE/ACE 2004 Consultants of the Year Awards.
Organised by New Civil Engineer magazine and the Association of Consulting Engineers, Owen Williams was short listed after NCE analysed more than 300 questionnaires returned by consultants across the UK for the 2004 Consultants File, which recognises the best company performances in 2003 across a range of business criteria.
Antony Oliver, Editor of NCE, presented the award at Claridges Hotel on 26 March. He said: “Last year was a defining year for Owen Williams Group. The company, along with the other shortlisters, showed great growth in its business in 2003, and demonstrated that it is more effective and more efficient than it was 12 months ago.
“Dividing these firms was difficult. But we found a clear winner. Owen Williams has at last started to really reap the benefit from its bold strategic direction change four years ago. Once the bastion of traditional general purpose engineering, the firm now has clear focus on specific clients and distinct business sectors.”
