Amey Rail has won a contract to remove and re-install 7,230 metres of track and ballast at six individual sites on the Croydon Tramlink operating network, together with the associated excavation and disposal works, the supply and installation of a capping layer and drainage works. The contract is worth around £5.5 million and the work is scheduled to be completed by September 2005.
