Amey has strengthened its reputation for sustainable leadership by being awarded the prestigious Gold Accreditation and Rising Star recognition in the latest Sustainable Facilities Management Index (SFMI) audit, underscoring the company’s commitment to embedding ESG principles across both strategy and operations.

The SFMI, a leading sustainability framework designed to measure and advance ESG performance within the Facilities Management (FM) sector, provides comprehensive and independent assessments that enable FM providers to strengthen their sustainability credentials and drive continuous improvement. In its 2025 audit, Amey was evaluated across climate action, social value, wellbeing, and risk management.

The audit highlighted Amey’s enhanced sustainability credentials, including the evolution of its ESG framework, robust governance, maturity in carbon management and social value delivery. It also noted the company’s strategic procurement activities as a driver of long term impact.

Commenting on the wins, Craig McGilvray, Managing Director of Amey, said: “Achieving Gold accreditation and the Rising Star recognition in this year’s SFMI assessment reflects the dedication of our teams to drive meaningful ESG improvements across our business. As we provide essential services to health, education, defence, and justice sectors, we are conscious of our responsibility to generate lasting positive impact in the communities we serve. These acknowledgments from the SFMI not only validate our progress but also set a new benchmark as we prepare for future assessments and pursue further advancements in 2026.”

Chris Havers, Director of Acclaro and Lead SFMI Assessor, added: “Amey’s strong performance across the SFMI’s ESG criteria this year reflects genuine progress in embedding sustainability across the business. In a year of more demanding benchmarks, this is an especially encouraging result, and we look forward to seeing what the team delivers throughout 2026.”

The independent validation from the SFMI provides Amey with a strengthened framework for continued improvement, as the business looks ahead to building on its success in the next assessment cycle at the end of 2026.
