Joanne Jackson BEM, one of our members of staff at HMP YOI Brinsford, is honoured to have been invited to Westminster Abbey to attend the coronation tomorrow.
Joanne runs five girl guide units and has been doing so for 37 years, after joining herself at 13 years old. The invite arrived after Joanne’s visit to Buckingham Palace garden party last year and after she was awarded the British Empire Medal for her volunteering work.
Meanwhile, our teams at the UK Hydrographic Office and Avon and Somerset Courts have been getting ready for the coronation with sweet treats. A huge thank you to Amy Gray for the wonderful cupcakes!
And our HMP Stafford team is planting an Alder Hornbean ‘Carpinus Betulus’ tree today to remember the coronation, and the Amey site team is creating a commemorative plaque to be placed alongside the tree as something that can be enjoyed for years to come.
