Amey teams in our Regional Prime South East (RPSE) contract held their 11th health and safety forum in High Wycombe earlier this week and were joined by representatives of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), our supply partners and new incoming contractors, Vinci.
Around 48 delegates attended the event, which focused on reinforcing the contract’s strong safety culture and to look back at the positive safety record of the South East. It included the presentation of the Amey Diamond Award in recognition of 8 million rolling hours free from Lost Time Incidents and RIDDOR injury in 2019, and the contract exceeding Amey’s key safety targets throughout 2020.
The Principal Speaker was Andy Honner, DIO’s Head of South East Regional Delivery and PFIs, who talked about DIO’s commitment to creating a collaborative safety culture in the new FDIS contract.
John Riley, Amey’s Regional Operations Director RPSE, said “These events are an essential part of maintaining and developing our safety culture. It was also an opportunity to reflect on some of the successes of our NGEC contract and to thank our supply chain partners for their excellent support. We were delighted that Andy Honnor was able to give a DIO perspective as we approach contract transition”.
