No one has been left untouched by the pandemic and whilst most of us have been aware of the outstanding dedication of frontline workers in the NHS and those maintaining our food supplies, how many of us have given thought to the men and women who continue to ensure our household rubbish is treated and recycled efficiently and safely?
At Allerton Waste Recovery Park, we recognise this work and understand how important it is that we look after our people. We are proud to launch our team of Wellbeing Ambassadors with support from local businesses who will provide prizes and gifts for the Wellbeing Packs created especially for our workers to mark the launch.
A team of seven people from across AWRP have stepped up to provide help and support to any AWRP employees concerned for themselves, colleagues or friends and family. The team have undergone training in a range of disciplines including mental health first aid, listening skills and identifying vulnerabilities and provide a vital service signposting anyone needing professional support. The packs include information on a variety of charities and support groups as well as tips for leading a healthier lifestyle.
Colin Fletcher, Account Director said “I am very proud of our Wellbeing Ambassador Team. At AWRP we all have a responsibility for the wellbeing of our colleagues and having a group of people on site with the skills and training to provide dedicated additional support is extremely valuable. The packs are full of useful information, and I was pleased to be able to share the contents with a friend who was struggling and needed help.”
Allerton Waste Recovery Park would like to thank Morrisons Boroughbridge and Hardwick’s Garden Centre Boroughbridge for providing prizes for our competition and The Dower House Hotel and Spa Knaresborough, The Crown Hotel Boroughbridge, Mike Popplewell Personal Fitness Trainer and Taylors of Harrogate for the gifts we included that made the packs engaging.
