The CoE for Asset Management used Mercury, an analytics tool developed by our Strategic Consulting team, to provide a holistic view of the data centre's assets in a pilot. This holistic view allows the Ferrovial services team to monitor asset performance in real time and identify potential failures.
The pilot focused on the data centre's Air Handling Units and identified a number of benefits including: risk planning, strategic planning, improvement of inspection task lists and predictive maintenance.
The implementation of Mercury as a tool of high-level analysis provides added value to the data centre operations in a number of ways.
Clear Understanding of asset behaviour
The data collected and presented by Mercury enables a much clearer understanding of the behaviour of individual assets. In particular, Mercury visualisations clearly show the possible degradation of an asset.
Improving inspection practice
Mercury visualisations allow NFF inspection reports to be questioned, with the goal of significantly reducing the frequency of NFF inspections, enabling proactive maintenance.
Improved understanding of risk
Mercury data drives the analysis of the risk of simultaneous fault conditions on redundant systems. This enables FS Management to take an informed view on maintenance levels and overall risk to site operations.
Understanding of systematic differences in asset behaviours
By combining large amounts of information and data, Mercury enables technical operations teams to quickly identify and understand systematic differences in the behaviour of different assets.
