At Amey, we are passionate about inspiring the next generation to think about a career in our industry and with Amey. So, when our team received a request from one pupil and his teacher at Drummond Community High School in Edinburgh about the possibility of work experience, our team was more than happy to help.

As part of a Wider Achievement programme, senior students at Drummond Community High School undertake volunteering or work experience to gain the Saltire Award qualification.

To help support Nathan McGraw, an S6 pupil to gain his Saltire Volunteering award and give him an insight into a career he is considering, over the next year he will be working along with side FM team for 1 hour per week our team at Drummond Community High School - which is maintained by Amey as part of our Edinburgh Schools contract.

Nathan will be assisting the site teams in tasks such as classroom setups, receipt of deliveries, litter picking and will be instructed about how to do this safely, while being supervised at all times by Paul Allan, Senior Janitor, Amey.

Leah Rankin, Pupil Support Leader at Drummond Community High School “I’d like to thank everyone and Amey for organising this. Nathan is delighted!”
