Former Amey apprentice Deivydas Andriuskevicius who works on our Norfolk Street Lighting contract was part of a “Rising Stars” panel at a recent prestigious business conference.
The National Skills Academy Power (NSAP) Power Skills Summit 2018 was held at St Georges Park near Burton on Trent and was attended by over 200 senior managers from the power industry. Deivydas was part of the “Rising Stars” panel which showcased young people with bright futures ahead of them who had benefitted from their employers providing opportunities for them to develop and grow. Deivydas is one of our DofE Ambassadors as well as an advocate for our apprentice programme.
Deivydas commented “It was really exciting to be asked to be part of the “Rising Stars” panel at the Power Skills Summit. I am passionate about sharing my story and my experiences of the DofE and my Amey apprenticeship with others. I hope to inspire the younger generation to and trust my contribution will encourage other employers to offer similar opportunities to young people.”
Amey’s Social Value Manager David Fawcett also attended the conference. David said “Deivydas was an inspiring part of the “Rising Stars” section of the day. I was very proud of his contribution and the way he wants to ensure others enjoy the same opportunities that he has.”
