Amey, who provide highways maintenance services across Hampshire, has supported Hawley Raiders U13 youth football club by providing a new playing kit for the team.
Amey’s support of the team was suggested by employee Terry Fuller who works at their Hook Depot. Mr Fuller’s son Daniel is captain of the team. John Maddy and David Fawcett from Amey joined the team for a training session and took the opportunity to hand over the new strip as well as discussing the work Amey does across the UK.
Scott Mills , the Team Manager at Hawley Raiders , said: “The children and parents are absolutely thrilled with the kit generously provided by Amey. Nine times out of ten a kit is sponsored by a local company, but to have a company of Amey's reputation and size support us is brilliant.”
Paul Anderson, Account Director for Amey, commented: “We are delighted to support Hawley Raiders U13 team . They are a great community club and this links with our commitment to support community and social value initiatives across the UK. We wish the Raiders U13's all the best for the current season.”
Over the past year, Amey has entered into several partnerships across Hampshire and surrounding counties that have benefitted young people, through work experience placements, recruitment of apprentices, and school and college events. Amey’s work with young people in Hampshire reflects Amey’s corporate values. Every Amey employee is also entitled to an annual paid Community Involvement Day to dedicate to local voluntary work.
