OVERVIEW
With youth unemployment rising across the UK, there was an urgent need to provide accessible employment and training opportunities for this demographic to secure long-term and sustainable work.
This year, we launched our Headstart initiative – the UK’s first contractor-led adaptation of the DWP's Kickstart programme. It forms part of our ongoing commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG), client and community collaboration and the UK Government’s Levelling Up Agenda.
BENEFIT
The chosen candidates will take part in a six-month placement and will receive tailored on-the-job training and learning and development opportunities, which will boost their long-term job prospects. We are looking to roll the programme out across other regions of the UK. Our Kickstart participants have now been placed into full-time employment or apprenticeships at Amey
