OVERVIEW
The One Trafford Partnership is set to save nearly 21 tonnes of carbon a year through the expansion of its electric fleet.
A collaboration between Trafford Council and Amey, One Trafford introduced 16 new electric vehicles to its fleet in spring 2022.
A fleet of 14 new electric Renault Zoes replaced diesel Euro 6 vans used to carry out daily, essential services throughout Trafford and two new 2 Vauxhall Vivaro Es replaced existing diesel models.
The move to zero emission vehicles supports Trafford Council’s commitment to decarbonise the borough, improving the health and wellbeing of residents and combatting climate change.
BENEFIT
Over the next seven years it’s estimated that the new fleet will provide a saving of more than 143 tonnes of carbon.
FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES
The electric fleet is just one of a host of measures One Trafford is taking to combat climate change. These include action to reduce herbicide use and plant more trees.
