Amey Consulting’s market-leading expertise in design has been recognised with their appointment to Transport Scotland’s professional services framework for the third consecutive time.

The four-year appointment sees Amey Consulting as one of five companies approved to tender for major projects – to the value of £100m – as a trusted technical advisor.

Amey Consulting will help Transport Scotland deliver the National Transport Strategy for Scottish Government and outcomes from the Strategic Transport Projects Review – providing a high-quality transport network while supporting the wider agenda to help communities, protect our climate and improve our lives. Appointment to this framework reinforces Amey Consulting’s long-term relationship with Transport Scotland which includes existing commitments to manage and maintain trunk roads and motorways in Scotland and Traffic Scotland’s network monitoring equipment.

Amey Consulting’s appointment to the framework recognises their expertise in environmentally aware design – combining engineering expertise with an understanding of how to reduce client carbon emissions in the planning of works and technology to reduce and design out waste. It will also open up new employment opportunities in early careers roles – such as Degree Apprentices, Graduates and Summer Placements – and local opportunities.

Business Director for Scotland, Gordon Allan, said: “Amey Consulting’s appointment to this framework means we can continue to bring our innovative consulting approach to support new projects and connect to our existing schemes in the area. Our long-term relationship with Transport Scotland sees us continuing to provide vital services to central and local government while also creating great employment opportunities for the local community and young people.”
