PIARC Worlds Road Association National Committee in the United Kingdom appointments David Ogden as Vice Chair

Amey is delighted to announce that David Ogden, Business Director for Transport Infrastructure has been appointed as Vice Chair of PIARC (Worlds Road Association) National Committee in the United Kingdom.

PIARC (World Road Association) is a non-profit association established more than 100 years ago to promote international cooperation on issues relating to roads and road transportation. It consists of a wide range of members from every part of the globe. The core members are road agencies representing over 120 countries.

David’s appointment follows his involvement in a number of key strategic projects for PIARC. In recent months David Ogden, alongside Mark Stevens from ADEPT Engineering Board were involved with detailing the UK highway sector’s collaborative response to Covid-19, focusing on the importance of retaining jobs and reallocating resource as necessary, the work of those in the roads industry to collaborate to keep the sector moving through troubled times and new guidance produced by the Highways Sector Council.

David is also joined by a number of Amey employees all of whom have secured a variety of influential and prestigious roles on technical and national committees as either a Member or Associated Member for PIARC, these include:

Member, Technical Committee 2.1, Mobility in Urban Areas

·         Nicholas Russell

Member, Technical Committee 3.2 Winter

The Worlds Roads Association has existed since 1909 and continues to bring together, foster and facilitate a global discussion and knowledge sharing on road infrastructure and transport.  The United Kingdom has had a National Committee since 1925.
