An Amey landscape designer has been named ‘Professional of the Year’ at the Landscape Institute Awards 2017. Barry Craig, a member of the environment and sustainability team, received the ‘New Landscape Professional of the Year’ award at a recent ceremony in London.
The Landscape Institute Awards recognise the outstanding work of landscape professionals, such as landscape architects, landscape planners and managers, whose job it is to create culturally rich and environmentally sustainable spaces in our towns and cities that bring communities together and people closer to the environments in which they live.
Barry Craig is a chartered senior landscape designer within Amey’s Belfast office, and the lead landscape architect on schemes such as the Liverpool Connectivity Scheme, which aims to make walking and cycling the first choice for short journeys in the city centre, and Ropewalks – the acclaimed ‘bohemian heart’ of Liverpool – that is home to the city’s most popular art, culture, food, drink and live music venues.
On winning the award, Barry Craig said: “I am delighted to have won the New Landscape Professional of the year at the Landscape Institute awards. I would like to thank Amey for the opportunities and interesting projects I have been able to get involved with, and many thanks also to my team for their support and guidance.”
