The morning event, which saw over 80 suppliers attend Ipswich Town Hall, enabled everyone to share openly the challenges the industry face and to share ideas to overcome these.
Discussions were held around achieving net zero by 2030, challenges in recruitment and the importance of local jobs for local people, as well as focussing on brining innovative solutions into Suffolk and making a difference though social impact projects, to local communities.
Nick Powell, Account Director at Amey, said: “It was fantastic to see so many local suppliers take the time to come and speak to us regarding the challenges that they’re facing within their industries. The working together session enabled us to showcase the breadth and variety of schemes and works that we’re involved with and seek feedback from local suppliers about how we can do things differently.
“By taking the time to listen and learn together, we’re creating an environment that supports net zero, innovation and collaboration, enabling us all to unlock regional growth and support the local community.”
Constructionline and Suffolk Chamber of Commerce also presented at the event showcasing the support and events that are available to local suppliers working in and around East Anglia.
Matt Burton from Constructionline, said: “Bringing together our suppliers and Amey in one room to network and share a common goal is always exciting. The agenda was current, thought-provoked and addressed the locality of the requirement. Being part of both sides of this interaction is what we love to do, and we look forward to working across the various schemes over many years to come.”
