Huge congratulations to Sean Mansell, a member of our supply chain partner, Inside Out Developments, who has raised over £4,500 for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, by completing a three day, 220-mile cycle ride from Seville to Malaga.

Sean was joined on the ride by his brother, sister, and brother-in-law, who, along with riders from other organisations, covered between 65 and 70 miles each day.

This was the hardest challenge I’ve ever done but it was absolutely worth it. The terrain was a mixture of flat and mountainous roads, and the weather was extremely cold and windy, however the places we visited were beautiful.

Amazingly, the team only experienced one puncture during the challenge although some riders had to borrow extra layers of clothing to keep themselves warm.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our journey. Your donations will directly help SSAFA’s mentoring service which provides long-term, face-to-face support for Service personnel and their families during transition and for up to two years post discharge as individuals make their journey from military to civilian life.

Since 2015, Amey has raised over £370,000 for SSAFA, thanks to the generosity of Amey’s employees and supply chain partners who have taken part in numerous fundraising activities. In addition, Ferrovial, Amey’s parent company, created the Ferrovial Juntos COVID 19 fund in 2020 to help fight the impact of the pandemic – more than £300,000 was made available for UK charities, of which SSAFA was gifted almost £44,000.
