Huge congratulations to Nick Rozelaar, our Site Manager at RAF Brize Norton, who has been awarded an AOC 2 Group Captain’s Commendation in the annual RAF Brize Norton’s New Year Honours list.

Nick is one of just twelve recipients of this prestigious award and the only non-serving Service personnel to be included in the list. This recognises his outstanding dedication to the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance, and the improvement of working relationships across the infrastructure enterprise.

Gp Capt Emily J Flynn OBE, said: “The scale of the infrastructure at RAF Brize Norton is vast and complex, and since Nick’s arrival he has dedicated himself to improving all aspects of the estate as well as improving the effectiveness of his team to support the Whole Force on site.

His can-do attitude, often under high levels of pressure over the last three years, clearly sets him apart from his peers and I am delighted that he has been recognised in this way. It is great to see one of our Amey colleagues being deservedly recognised, it really is proof of the Whole Force ethos here at RAF Brize Norton!”

John Riley, Amey’s Operations Director, South East added: “Nick has been the guiding light at RAF Brize Norton and has significantly improved the estate since he took up his post in 2017. Nick and his team share the same vision to deliver the best service they can to Service personnel on site and is a worthy recipient of this award.”

On receiving news of the award, Nick said: “I was humbled and delighted to receive the award from the Station Commander. Success has come from the great team ethos that exists at Brize Norton between the RAF, DIO, Amey and our supply chain partners, MMS. We work well together and support each other, always putting the needs of Service personnel first.”
