Once again, Amey’s Glasgow school’s facilities management account has come to the aid of Children In Distress by supporting their 2021 annual “Love in a Box Campaign.”

Building on a relationship that started in 2016, Graham Sloan, Operations Manager and Robert Colquhoun, Team Leader at Eastbank Academy, used their Amey Community Involvement Day to bring some joy and smiles to suffering children and OAPs in Romania.

Amey very generously provided the van and fuel for Graham and Robert to make the journey from Glasgow to Ayr, to pick up a collection of 260 shoeboxes. They then drove the donated boxes from Glasgow to the central ‘Love in a Box’ distribution centre in Potto (North East of England) where they will be transported by HGV to Romania to ensure Santa makes his appearance and these wonderful gifts, all collected in the UK, can be distributed to the children and families who need them the most.

Tina Connelly, Operations Manager, Children in Distress said: “We are extremely grateful, once again to Amey for continuing their support and look forward to future trips and the ongoing relationship between the two companies.”
