Who: Amey encourages everyone to join a pension scheme to save towards their retirement. Most people will be automatically enrolled into a Workplace Pension scheme on joining Amey and the company’s main workplace pension provider is the People’s Pension Scheme.

What: A Workplace Pension Scheme is a pension scheme that meets a specific standard set by the Government as part of its plan to encourage everyone to save more towards retirement.  Most employees aged between 22 and State Pension Age are automatically enrolled if they are not already a pension scheme member. Minimum contribution rates apply, and these are set by the Government.

In addition to the People’s Pension Scheme, Amey employees may belong to one of many other pension schemes (Amey currently operates 30+ different pension schemes) as stated in either their contract of employment or cover letter issued to them on joining the company, or when electing to join a pension scheme at any point throughout your employment with Amey. Why: If you elect to join a pension scheme and make contributions, Amey will also contribute under most circumstances.  A private pension scheme gives Amey employees the flexibility to decide what percentage of their earnings they would like to set aside for retirement. You will be able to draw this pension when you retire, in addition to your State Pension.

When: You are eligible to join a pension scheme at any stage throughout your employment, unless you are over 75 years old.

How:

• You may be eligible to join a different pension scheme depending on your Amey Grade, Terms & Conditions of employment or if you transferred to Amey from another company under ‘TUPE’. If you believe this applies to you then please contact PeopleServices@amey.co.uk.
• If you wish to change or cease the contribution into your current pension scheme you can complete the Request to Change Pensions Contributions form via the links on this page. Please download, complete and return it to PeopleServices@amey.co.uk.
