Personal pride in our public service

Abdul Savant

Senior Electrical Engineer

It’s the team spirit that drives Abdul to succeed.

Abdul wants everyone to look forward to coming to work and to really feel part of things. It’s why he’s set up a cricket team in every office where he’s worked. “I like building a network and getting involved. If you feel better, you work better.”

As a senior Electrical Engineer, he designs innovative electrical power solutions, to make rail an even more sustainable form of travel. He also runs a work experience programme, as part of his role as one of our STEM ambassadors, giving school leavers from diverse backgrounds a taste of life as an engineer at Amey.

“I like to do something for the industry and to improve the world we live in.  I want people to believe in themselves and think if he can do it, I can.”

Creating positive change is a way of life at Amey and next year Abdul will be using his annual paid-for community involvement day, to combine his passions by organising a charity cricket tournament, for office teams around Birmingham.
