Heathrow Airport

Birmingham Airport Asset Management Improvement Plan

Bristol International Airport Gap Analysis

Strategic Consulting has been working with Heathrow Airport to construct an optimized asset management system to improve strategic planning. Heathrow’s master plan will increase passenger capacity from 70 million to 130 million by 2040. This will significantly increase demand for rail access to the airport. Committed projects such as the Heathrow Crossrail connection, and pipeline projects such as a Western Rail access (connection to Reading) and HS2 will improve the capacity and accessibility of the airport. However, these projects will present new challenges.

The team has worked alongside Heathrow staff to develop and embed the asset management system and achieve ISO55000 certification. This involved a number of activities and has resulted in a hierarchy of systems and business processes which are centered upon a critical documentation suite which includes:

An overarching Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) which sets the approach for the delivery of the organisation’s Asset Management Policy and Strategy.

A suite of Core Asset System Strategies (CASS) which are the asset-system-specific strategies. These integrate the asset management system of the organization with that of the specific asset system

A suite of associated Asset Management Plans (AMP) which is the mechanism for delivery and review of core asset management system requirements as set by the CASS and SAMP.
