Purpose of the role
Amey have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Highways Maintenance Operative to join our team. As one of our Operatives you will be a part of our team who are delivering essential highways services across Manchester.
You will support in all aspects of highway maintenance works including routine and cyclical maintenance, minor civils’ works and the installation of low-speed temporary traffic management. In addition, you will have the chance to be involved in Winter and emergency call out work.
This is an excellent time to join a growing business and benefit from the rewards and training Amey are offering. Although an HGV Class 2 is desirable, for the right candidate, there is an opportunity to do HGV training to obtain your licence and overtime will be available at an enhanced rate.
About the role
- All aspects of highway maintenance works including routine and cyclic maintenance activities, footway and carriageway patching, kerbing works, minor civils’ works, ironworks, and drainage.
- Carrying out vehicle checks prior to shift starting, correctly completing the Check safe App.
- To drive/operate vehicles/plant requiring general and specialist skills including vehicle checks, routine maintenance, (EG oil and water checks etc) and cleaning.
What we are looking for
Enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals with experience working in a fast paced, outdoor environment. HGV License and CPC qualification is desirable however Amey is willing to fund these qualifications for the right individuals.
