Non-emergency patient transport for the NHS
We provide an efficient, integrated service transporting non-emergency patients on behalf of the NHS. This involves supporting vulnerable and mental health patients to ensure their individual needs are catered for throughout their journeys.
As part of our partnership with the NHS, Amey drivers receive full mental health awareness training. This means they are equipped with the tools not only to transport but also to engage fully with service users while they are in transit.
Our integrated approach uses multidisciplined staff and multiple vehicle locations along with a full monitoring and measuring system to provide full visibility of our service.
For example, on behalf of Birmingham, and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust we are responsible for managing non-emergency patient and passenger transport services. We deliver economic benefits for the Trust and support a higher level of care for patients. Working closely with our NHS client, we have introduced an integrated solution, using multidisciplined staff, greater utilisation of vehicle locations and a monitoring and measuring system to give full visibility of the service.
