A chartered engineer and software developer, Chris has extensive experience of data-centric software systems. He was the unstructured data migration lead for CSAMS (Civils Strategic Asset Management Systems), part of the Network Rail ORBIS programme; and more recently data lead for Metrolink mobilisation, managing the specification, cleansing, and alignment of data across two enterprise asset management systems.
Chris has also led several modelling projects, including:
- the generic whole-life cost model, CoBALT , which enables Network Rail to quickly assess asset cost, performance and risk across all asset disciplines;
- a UKRIA-shortlisted lift and escalator whole-life cost model, built using a probabilistic, Poisson failure generation engine and Monte Carlo uncertainty simulation;
- the Asset Regime Model (ARM) tool, used to ensure regulatory compliance for facilities management contracts.
Chris also received the IET innovation award for ‘Plan for Assets’, a capital maintenance planning and forecasting tool for Veolia Water.
