What’s your greatest professional achievement?
Playing a key role in supporting Amey’s transformation has been really rewarding. We have been through some challenging times but we are starting to see the benefits and positive changes now.
What advice would you have given yourself 20 years ago?
Trust your instinct, always try to do the right thing and challenge situations that you disagree with – however uncomfortable that might make you feel.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy the wide variety of my role, from engagement with our shareholder, shaping strategy, supporting business transformation and getting out on site. And I always return home impressed and humbled by the work our people do and their drive to put our customer’s needs first.
What are your priorities for the next five years?
We have built a really exciting platform for growth in our new strategy. My priority is to help make this a reality and fulfil our ambition. This will not just happen and it will need the support and commitment of all of our employees to drive us forward.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I love spending time with my family. I have two boys and they are growing up too quickly so it’s important to make the most of it. When I’m not standing on the side lines of a rugby, cricket or hockey pitch watching them play, I enjoy sport and trying to stay fit myself. I love to travel and experience different cultures and always visit somewhere new every year.
