What’s your greatest professional achievement?
Being appointed CEO was a proud day. It is the result of many years hard work and facing numerous challenges but that’s probably what made it so rewarding. Our business is fantastic and I’m looking forward to building on our successes.
What advice would you have given yourself 20 years ago?
Be brave. Not everything is going to work out as you expected it but that's a great way of learning so that next time, you’ll succeed.
What’s the best thing about working at Amey?
It’s without a doubt the people. Every individual brings something different to the table; the range of skills and experience we have in our business is seriously impressive and I’m proud to be able to say that I work with the best people in the industry.
What are your priorities for the next five years?
We’ve got some really ambitious plans for the future and while we’ll be focusing on delivering the best possible services for our customers, growing our business and our people and pursuing innovative ways to make the way we work better every day. Our number one priority is safety – for our people and the people around us.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I spend my free time with family and friends – and play the odd game of golf, when I can.
