A Chartered Engineer with over 25 years of experience within the Highways sector, Alex has been working at Amey since 2007.
Alex’s previous roles have seen him gain invaluable knowledge across the sector, with experience leading and developing teams of specialists; developing annual budgets; project management; and client relationship management.
He began life at Amey as an Associate Director for the South East, where he took responsibility for the operation of Amey Consulting, including client management, P&L and business expansion for professional services. Since then, Alex has delivered on a number of high-profile projects, including the Hammersmith Flyover Phase 1 Strengthening project, in advance of the Queen’s Jubilee and the 2012 Olympic, and the Kent County Council Professional Services Contract. Following this, Alex has fulfilled roles as Business Director responsible for the Highways & Airports Consultancy business across England, Wales and N Ireland, which has seen him gain in successfully growing business.
In his role as Managing Director of Amey Consulting, Alex is responsible for the overall strategy and business sustainability, focusing on key three areas; the growth of the business, the Amey Consulting brand; and, a particular focus on safety. His key motivations is ensuring the development of the Consulting business, to better support the wider Amey business and continue to deliver innovative, practical solutions.
