Governance policies and reports

Amey is one of the top five support services suppliers in UK.

We employ 17,000 people across the UK, have a turnover of £2.1bn and a healthy order-book. We are an outsourcing business and 80 per cent of the work we do is for central and local Government. Whilst we may not be an everyday name, every household in Britain benefits from the work we do.
We keep our transport networks running as we are responsible for managing and maintaining rail, road and motorway networks across the UK.

We look after the whole of the UK’s military defence estate, including 50,000 military homes for our service personnel.

Under our facilities management team, we:

  • are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of around 60 prisons, as well as transporting prisoners between courts or police stations
  • work across 146 schools in England and Scotland to keep them cleaned and maintained
  • collect and process waste as well as manage everything from our public parks to open spaces – keeping them green and clean.

We also have a strong presence in the regulated Utilities sector for power and water; we are the people who fit smart meters in your homes.

All of this is supported by our 2,500 specialists in our consulting business who use engineering design and data analytics to better map out and manage the services we all use.

Amey continues to play a critical role in the delivery of public services across the UK, many of which are essential to our daily public life – such as waste collection, cleaning schools, ongoing maintenance of our transport infrastructure and much more.
