Robert Edmondson - MD Environmental Services
Having joined Amey in 2013, Rob previously led Amey’s environmental and waste services accounts as Sector Business Director before joining the Executive Team in 2016 as Managing Director for the new Environmental Services Business Unit.
During his time as Sector Business Director, Rob developed Amey’s sector growth strategy from the integration of Enterprise Plc’s environmental business to positioning of Amey as one of the top five companies within the market.
Taking responsibility for Amey’s waste treatment capabilities in 2015, Rob incorporated contracts into the environmental services business, to deliver greater cultural synergies across teams and improve service delivery for customers. The outcome of this approach was demonstrated through significant bid and mobilisation success with Trafford and the Isle of Wight councils.
Rob was also instrumental in focusing and developing the commercial waste business to operate as a standalone function. The team have a clear focus on, and greater interaction with, our customers, which has resulted in the growth of new business opportunities.
Innovation is also critical to enhance services for the public and local communities. Rob works closely with the Ferrovial Services’ Centre of Excellence for the Environment, which embraces innovative technological concepts from the across the world for the benefit of people. Working with his team and customers, Rob identifies suitable opportunities to introduce new technology to environmental services and deliver results which have the ability to change lives.
Rob has over 25 years experience in the Environmental Services market having delivered multi-million pound contracts both in the public and private sectors, in the UK and internationally.
Before joining Amey, Rob worked for Veolia as their UK Operations Director for Commercial and Industrial Services. Responsible for leading all business-to-business activity across 35 locations throughout the UK, Rob took full operational and financial control of fleet, customer services and sales, as well as resourcing and talent management to achieve the strategic growth plan.
Prior to that Rob held senior leadership roles at Cleanaway and Balfour Beatty.
