There are currently 258 graduates and 259 apprentices with leading public and regulated services provider Amey, following the latest intake who joined at the start of September.

Gaining key industry experience while receiving support from senior colleagues, there are now 258 graduates taking part in Amey’s Graduate Development Programme. This two-year programme provides a choice of career pathways for graduates from a wide range of degree disciplines, including engineering, quantity surveying, operational management and other commercial and corporate roles. Receiving guidance and mentoring from industry experts, graduates are exposed to real projects from day one and are supported in gaining qualifications from their relevant professional institution.

Simon Grundy, a Graduate Innovation Manager with Consulting and Rail, said: “Amey offers the chance to work with some exceptional people and surround yourself with brilliant individuals and teams who endeavour to support, challenge and guide you through your development into an intense, dynamic and rewarding career.”

Amey’s apprenticeship programme offers young people the opportunity to learn new skills, earn a salary and gain nationally recognised qualifications. There are now 259 apprentices on the Amey apprenticeship programme, working in areas ranging from arboriculture and electrical engineering to accounting and customer service.

Alex Marriott, an Apprentice completing her Level 3 business administration with Sheffield Streets Ahead, said:Amey has pushed me to learn more and to drive myself to better my career. I’ve picked up a lot of knowledge since being part of my apprenticeship and it’s given me a range of business skills.”

Amey offers the opportunity to its apprentices to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE), as it recognises the important skills that young people can gain from this and bring back into the workplace.

Amey’s HR Director Ian Deninson said: “We are always looking for enthusiastic and ambitious individuals who are prepared to challenge and drive our business forward. We have high expectations of all the graduates and apprentices we hire. But, in turn, we are committed to offering them the very best opportunities to build on their experience so we can develop them to their maximum potential.”
