Leading public and regulated services provider, Amey, has been awarded both Gold and Champion Investors in People (IiP) status for the second time. The prestigious Gold award is the highest accolade awarded by IiP and recognises excellence in people management and development. Not only is Amey the only business within its industry to be awarded both Gold and Champion status, this achievement also puts the company in the top 1% of the IiP community.

IiP assessors praised the high standards maintained by Amey despite the company more than doubling in size since the last assessment. Amey’s positive approach to health and safety was also recognised by assessors; stating that initiatives were strongly embedded with employees and supported by the attitudes and behaviours of directors and managers at all levels of the business.

Mel Ewell, Chief Executive for Amey said: “Our 21,000 employees play a vital part in delivering high quality services to our clients, so it’s important to us to spend time supporting and investing in them. We are proud of our employee engagement and development achievements and we’re therefore really pleased to, once again, be recognised as a business which is at the forefront of this field.”

”We also take our role of sharing best practice very seriously and will continue to work with our people and suppliers across the industry to help raise the standards of development and talent management.”

IiP is an internationally recognised framework that helps businesses maximise their performance through the effective management and development of their people. With over 15,000 organisations in 75 countries holding IiP status, the accreditation is the world renowned mark of excellence in this space.
