Amey’s HR team named best in class

Amey, one of the UK’s leading public and regulated service providers, has been recognised by the HR Excellence Awards for its approach to driving change across the business, improving performance and promoting growth.

The HR department at Amey was named as the ‘Best HR Team in the Private Sector’, after judges identified the strategic decisions that the team had made, to help the company achieve its ambitious growth target, improve employee engagement and develop talent. 

Amey successfully implemented companywide efficiency programmes, whilst ensuring a focus remained on its employees - increasing engagement levels to over 80% and enrolling 3% of the workforce onto its apprenticeship and graduate schemes. 

Valerie Hughes-D’Aeth, Group HR and Communications Director said: “At Amey, we value our employees and it is important that we continue to up skill and engage them in order to meet the needs of the business, our client’s and the markets in which we work.

“We are delighted to have been recognised by the HR Excellence Awards for our dedicated approach to delivering projects that have enhanced performance and growth at Amey.”

Earlier this year, Amey was also awarded Investors in People Champion Status – just six months after it achieved Gold accreditation - for going above and beyond in the way it develops supports and motivates its employees.

The HR Excellence Awards represent the gold standard for people strategy. The awards celebrate businesses that challenge convention and lead the way in sharing best practice. The team fought off strong competition from well-known companies such as GAP, Fujitsu and KFC to take the prestigious title.
