Amey awarded Highways Agency Asset Support Contract worth £200million

The Highways Agency (HA) has awarded leading UK public and regulated services provider Amey a contract worth up to £200m over five years to manage and maintain over 600 miles of strategic roads across East Anglia.

Under the Asset Support Contract (ASC) for HA Area 6 Amey will be responsible for improving and maintaining routes through Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and parts of Cambridgeshire.

The five year contract commences in April 2014 and has the potential to be extended for up to three years.

Amey’s innovative solution for ASC6 will provide a cost effective and flexible service for the HA.  Streamlined processes, better use of technology, cutting edge plant and equipment and collaboration with the supply chain will ensure delivery of the service is fully aligned with HA requirements and government investment is maximised on operational activity.

The contract scope extends beyond routine maintenance to; scheme identification, value management, design and construction of schemes up to £5m; and design and management of Schemes in excess of £5m.

The win contributes to Amey’s growth plans. The company is experienced in managing large complex projects simultaneously across aviation, central government, defence, utilities, education, local government, rail and strategic highways sectors.
