AMEY appoints new technical director

David is a chartered civil engineer with more than 35 years’ experience in the public sector.

He will now be working within Amey’s award-winning consultancy, where he will develop service solutions for new and existing local authority clients. Based in Amey’s Sussex office, David will be help expand Amey’s local authority portfolio and identify improvement and efficiency opportunities aligned to the changing needs of the industry.

Andy Milner, Managing Director of Amey’s consultancy, said: “I am delighted to welcome David to our team.

“Through his work with CIHT, David is at the forefront of developments within our industry. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the public sector highways and transportation industry. This will further enhance delivery of our services to our local authority clients.”

David added: “It’s great to be joining Amey at a time of growth. I am looking forward to working with the team to maximise efficiencies across all of our local authority contracts.”

Prior to joining Amey, David worked with Project Centre where he was responsible for partnerships and business development. He also worked for East Sussex County Council for 23 years before transferring to Owen Williams (now part of Amey) in 1998 when the authority outsourced its highways consultancy department.

David, who is also a trustee of CIHT, will become President of the organisation in June 2011.
