Amey, one of the UK’s leading public service providers, has won the Facilities Manager (FM) of the Year category at the prestigious British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) Investors in FM Excellence Awards, which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London last night.

Andy Ractliffe, an Account Director at Amey, which provides a total facilities management and workspace optimisation service to central government departments, agencies and non-departmental bodies, was chosen as overall winner in a very competitive category.

The award recognised outstanding personal performance and career development in one individual, in addition to innovative use of FM methodology applied to solving major issues, integration of the individual into an organisation’s decision making process and senior corporate structure, and the pursuance of FM recognition through academic progress.

A member of BIFM and RICS, Andy joined Amey in 1996, becoming responsible for the HMCS and Highways Agency accounts, in addition to Amey’s own portfolio.

Mel Ewell, Amey Chief Executive commented, “My warmest congratulations go to Andy on this excellent achievement. Throughout his career at Amey, he has always demonstrated a passion for delivering a service that far exceeds the expectations of our clients. This commitment to a great customer experience, delivered through exceptional people, is what Amey is all about.”
