Amey is proud to have seconded one of its graduates to the Highways Agency as one of five new HA Traffic Operations Managers, where he will help manage over 70 Traffic Officers. Marking a breakthrough in traffic management, this new service has been created by the Highways Agency to help manage incidents and keep traffic moving.

Highways Agency Traffic Officers are now working alongside police on the motorways in the West Midlands. This will be the start of an England-wide roll out, with traffic officers patrolling the whole country by the end of 2005.

It means more trained people on the road, ready to help drivers. This will result in a safer road network, more reliable journey times, better information for drivers and reduced incident related congestion. In addition, it will free up police to concentrate on incident management, crime and law enforcement.
