Owen Williams Consultants has been appointed by A-one Integrated Highways Services as a supply chain partner to provide communication systems management for the Highways Agency’s Area 14 network.
A-one is the Highway Agency’s Managing Agent Contractor (MAC) for Area 14. Owen Williams will be responsible for planning the communications system maintenance work schedule, identifying faults, routine inspections, and instructing on any work to be carried out. This includes all motorway communications such as emergency telephones, overhead gantries and fog warning systems.
The Area 14 network is located in the north east of England and comprises 1,100 lane km of motorways and trunk roads in North Yorkshire, Durham and Northumberland. This includes the A1 from Dishforth to the Scottish borders, the A19 from the Tyne Tunnel to the A1, the A66 Teesside to Cumbria road and the A68/A696.
