In partnership with its consortium members, Amey Business Services (ABS) has been appointed “preferred bidder subject to Cabinet approvals” for the Northamptonshire Schools PFI project. The consortium, led by Babcock & Brown, will be responsible for the delivery of a combination of new buildings and refurbishments for 47 primary and secondary schools in Northamptonshire.
The project is due to commence mid-2005. ABS will provide FM and lifecycle solutions for 27 years, including grounds maintenance, security and caretaking. The value of the contract in terms of the services that Amey will provide is around £150 million. This contract reflects Amey’s expanding reputation in the education sector and further enhances ABS’ schools PFI portfolio.
