There might be a typical accountant, solicitor or advertising man. If you joined a legal practice, advertising agency or accountancy firm you'd know, by and large, the kind of people you'd deal with day-to-day.

But there is no such thing as a typical Amey person. Which means there's no such thing as a typical day.

You need to be able to shout over the thump of pneumatic drill and the screech of rolling stock on one day and speak with calm authority in the discreet hush of a boardroom the next.
